A Message From Dean Dorner
I have had the pleasure of watching the Doctoral Program in Public Affairs develop since it was established at UCF in the fall of 1997, and I think launching the Public Affairs Review E-Journal is both an exciting and a fitting milestone for the program. Initially, the program focused on local and regional issues in public affairs. Today, it has a much more global perspective, thanks to strong leadership, diversity among its students and faculty, and Central Florida's vibrant international community. As a result, the prospective audience for a publication like this has grown substantially. It is also fitting that the program has chosen to distribute this journal electronically. Rapid communication of research findings in public affairs has become invaluable to those working in the discipline, and electronic journals are now among the preferred methods of delivery. Regional, national and international colleagues will now benefit from learning about public affairs research at UCF in a quick and efficient manner. I want to extend my sincere thanks and congratulations to the students and faculty mentors who have worked so hard to make this possible.
